Our image of Our Lady of Montenero (Our Lady of Grace) adorns our Sanctuary. This is a copy of an image in a church in Livorno, Italy. This church dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, and the image in particular, were very dear to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's heart, and pivotal in her conversion to the Catholic faith.
It was at this church that our patron saint first felt herself attracted to the Eucharist as the Real Presence of Our Lord. Our Lady in this image has a little bird perched on her right arm, and if you look closely, you'll see that Jesus is holding the bird with a string to prevent it from flying away. The little bird symbolizes each one of us. Jesus is holding on to us so we don't leave His and the Blessed Mother's side.
Our Lady of Montenero, Mother of God, pray for us!
